I have been seeing very different responses to the Coronavirus in the media and on the internet/social media sites. These reactions range from anger that the media is making “too big a deal” and spreading panic, to people who are afraid to go to work for fear that they could spread the disease to loved ones; particularly older individuals in their family.
In my opinion, we do not have enough information to have strong opinions or emotions about this either way. My greatest hope is that we are indeed overreacting to something that has a much more benign course than we had imagined and that we will look back on this over the years and think about how unnecessarily “riled up” we became. But I strongly believe that we can not make that assumption now based on the evidence and information that we have.
My priority at Beth Collins, M.D. is the safety of my patients and my staff, so I have closed my practice for the time being. I am offering virtual consultations during this time, so please don’t hesitate to request a consultation.
This is an evolving situation and there may be changes to the outlined plan, but for now with the information that we have available, I will do everything that I can do to keep you safe. I thank you for your patience and understanding through this difficult time.
