CoolSculpting® is one of the most effective and most popular nonsurgical fat reduction procedures available today. As the range of applicators grows, the treatment becomes even more powerful for targeting fat deposits in tough-to-treat spots. I now use CoolSculpting at my Guilford practice to treat a wide range of target areas on the body—areas that often come with wonderfully weird nicknames.
Curious about just how versatile CoolSculpting really is? Here’s your vocabulary lesson.
These are the banana-shaped pockets found just below the buttocks. Although many exercises are aimed at toning the legs and butt, it’s especially difficult to target this in-between zone.
Once these pockets are reduced, we can tighten up excess skin surgically, if needed. Learn more in my previous blog post.
This notorious bulge happens when fat peeks out over the top of tight pants. This fat may be stored in a combination of areas, including the hips, back, and abdomen. The CoolAdvantage applicator is great for targeting all of these regions, as well as the inner thighs.
Wings may look great on bats, but most people aren’t thrilled about the excess fat that forms on their upper arms. The CoolAdvantage Petite™ was designed specifically to address this difficult-to-correct spot.
This collection of submental fat causes frustration for many. Double chins are common even among those dedicated to staying fit, which makes them an ideal target for CoolSculpting. The CoolMini applicator fits perfectly under the chin so it can effectively freeze the fat in the area, causing a noticeable boost in neck and jawline definition.
The pockets of excess fat on the hips are often called love handles and can sometimes contribute to a muffin top. CoolSculpting allows us to reduce the fat in these areas without overdoing it and losing any feminine curvature in female patients.
These deposits build up on the outer upper thighs. The CoolSmooth applicator is ideal for this concern and other areas with “non-pinchable” fat.
This feature is characterized by a lack of differentiation between the calf and the ankle. Because the area is so small and delicate, a moderate fat reduction with CoolSculpting is typically the safest and most effective treatment.
Although liposuction is also popular for fat reduction, many patients are drawn to the nonsurgical nature of CoolSculpting. Its minimal downtime and noticeable results have made it a favorite at my practice. Whether you’re looking to slim down your saddlebags or say bye-bye to your banana rolls, we can very likely make it happen without the need surgery.
