Body Contouring after Weight Loss

Toned abdomen

Weight loss is one of the most admirable goals. It takes hard work, dedication and drive to succeed in losing excess weight from your body. The problem is that weight loss is seldom enough to get your body into an ideal shape. Trouble spots tend to become more prominent when you reduce your overall fat composition.

The good news is that body contouring can help you achieve that ideal shape after losing weight. It works in a unique way that helps you rid yourself of unwanted fat without the need for any invasive surgeries.

What is Body Contouring?

While there are many procedures available, the point of all body contouring procedures revolves around removing deposits of fat from your body. These may be small deposits limited to areas like your neck or chin, or they may be deposits spread over a large area like your abdomen.

The goal of these procedures is to break down the fat or to induce a form of natural lipolysis that encourages your body to transform the fat cells into energy.

What Kinds of Body Contouring are There?

There are different procedures that may be used for body contouring, which include:

  • Tumescence Lipolysis – A solution is injected into the layer of skin containing fat. This tumescent solution breaks down fat, which is then removed via suction. This procedure is ideal for larger or denser areas where more fat needs to be removed.
  • Laser-assisted Tumescent Liposuction – Procedures like SMART liposuction add another fat-dissolving vector by using lasers. This tends to result in less bruising and accelerates the amount of healing a patient undergoes for optimal results.
  • Laser Lipolysis – Smaller deposits of fat can be removed by applying a laser to the skin. This energy passes harmlessly through the skin before transforming into heat when it reaches the fat cells. This procedure is similar to ultrasonic body contouring, but tends to be used in different ways.

For our body contouring procedure, we may include body lift, tummy tuck, or liposuction.

Which Procedure is Right for You?

Body contouring is a relatively straightforward idea, but it requires the knowledge and wisdom of an expert to ensure that you receive the results you desire. No two bodies are the same, which means that you need a personalized solution.
